On October 19, 2024, a special round trip took place in a historic shuttle train with the Re 4/4 I 10001, which delighted fans of historic trains. The journey led from Olten through the Swiss Plateau with stops in Solothurn, Biel, Lyss and other places. Participants enjoyed a free choice of seats and a tour of the depot in Olten, where they learned interesting facts about the maintenance of historic trains. The Re 4/4 I 10001 was the first lightweight SBB locomotive to reach a top speed of 125 km/h and could negotiate curves faster than its predecessors. It was mainly used on the Swiss Central Plateau for light express trains and was equipped with an electric recuperation brake and multiple control.
