McClellan and numbering over 100,000 men, begins embarking on troop ships bound for Fort Monroe on the tip of the Virginia Peninsula. From here, McClellan plans to launch a bold general offensive against Richmond from the southeast. Standing in his way is a vastly-outnumbered Confederate force of roughly 11,000 men under Major General John B. Magruder, headquartered around the historic Revolutionary War battlegrounds of Yorktown. Magruder's hopeless situation begins to turn around on April 5th, 1862, when he manages to successfully bluff McClellan into believing his army equals or even outnumbers the Federals. And so, McClellan settles into a siege around Yorktown as Magruder holds out, waiting for incoming reinforcements from Richmond in the form of General Joseph E. Johnston's Confederate forces originally headquartered at Manassas Junction. How long will this "other" Siege of Yorktown last? Will Johnston be able to reinforce Magruder in time before McClellan realizes the former actor's charade? Only time will tell.
