Vesemir's Last Stand
“Vesemir’s Last Stand” is the tragic battle-lament of the album, centred on the Wild Hunt’s assault on Kaer Morhen and Vesemir’s sacrifice to protect Ciri. The song is heroic, sorrowful and cinematic, treating Vesemir not only as a witcher, but as the old father of the Wolf School — the one who taught them steel, silence, survival and love without ever needing to say it. Musically, it begins like a winter funeral march, then erupts into a massive folk-metal battle anthem with war drums, hurdy-gurdy, heavy guitars, witcher chants and a devastating final chorus.
