RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS - Dark Necessities - Bass cover

The song was released in 2016. It is built around a bass riff rather than a guitar riff, making the low end the true centerpiece of the arrangement. The song is about inner struggles, obsessions, or darker impulses that we all carry and that shape us. . I like the feeling that growth often comes through confronting, rather than avoiding, the uncomfortable parts of ourselves. The bass part by Flea is really complex: fingerstyle playing, syncopation, ghost notes, slap, and carefully controlled dynamics. The original line by Flea often anticipates chord changes, I am afraig I was not able to reproduce it completely. Bass used: Lakland Skyline 44-60 Recorded with Garageband and OBS Studio powered by Presonus Studio 68c. The sound chain includes Boss OC-5 Octaver, Empress Compressor, Sonic Maximizer, B85 Audio Overdrive, BOSS CEB-3 Chorus and SansAmp Tech 21 Bass Driver D.I. V.2 (EQ flat). This is neither a studio recording nor a tutorial video. This is to honour the composers and previous generations of musicians and to enjoy the song as it is. Yes, there are mistakes and I hope to be able to play the tune better one day :-)
