Browse our inventory at https://www.evercars.com/cars The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is one of the best Tesla Model Y alternatives on the market, and for 2026 Hyundai made it cheaper, gave it more range, and didn't take anything away. The original launched as a 2022 model year with 800V charging, 303 miles of range, and a starting price just above $40,000. The 2025 refresh added a larger 84 kWh battery, a NACS port, roof rails, a rear wiper, and two new trims. The overall footprint grew by about an inch, putting it at 185.6 inches — precisely the same length as the Ford Mustang Mach-E. For 2026, Hyundai dropped the price by over $7,000 and kept everything else intact. The lineup runs five trims from $36,600 to $47,875 including destination. Hyundai is currently offering $8,750 off all trims, which makes the value proposition genuinely hard to ignore: SE Standard Range — $36,600 ($27,850 after incentive) 168 hp RWD · 245 miles EPA · 4,145 lbs Cloth seats with heated fronts, driver power lumbar, HDA, 12.3" touchscreen, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, 800V charging SE — $39,100 ($30,350 after incentive) 225 hp RWD / 320 hp AWD · 318 miles RWD / 290 miles AWD · 4,376 lbs RWD All SE Standard Range features plus the larger 84 kWh battery. AWD available for $3,500 more SEL — $41,400 ($32,650 after incentive) 225 hp RWD / 320 hp AWD · 318 miles RWD / 290 miles AWD · 4,409 lbs RWD H-Tex leatherette seats, 8-way power passenger seat, front power lumbar both sides, hands-free liftgate, wireless charging, rear A/C vents, HDA 2. AWD available for $3,500 more Limited — $46,675 ($37,925 after incentive) 225 hp RWD / 320 hp AWD · 318 miles RWD / 269 miles AWD · 4,557 lbs RWD Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, Bose audio, HUD, panoramic vision roof, V2L, digital rear camera mirror, 64-color ambient lighting, relaxation seat, Remote Smart Park Assist 2. AWD available for $3,900 more XRT — $47,875 ($39,125 after incentive) 320 hp AWD · 259 miles EPA · 4,720 lbs +23mm suspension lift, 18-inch all-terrain tires, terrain mode, Bose audio, V2L, surround-view monitor, Remote Smart Park Assist 2, XRT-exclusive styling. Can tow up to 2,700 lbs For context, the 2026 Tesla Model Y RWD is $41,630. A Limited IONIQ 5 after incentive is $37,925 — nearly $4,000 cheaper with a longer feature list. If you want to go further, a Long Range SE comes in at just over $30,350, which is a remarkable amount of EV for the money. On the charger, the IONIQ 5 peaks at 260 kW with a very good curve, and does 10 to 80% in 20 minutes on a 1000V charger and 30 minutes on a V3 Supercharger. Behind the rear seats there's 26.3 cubic feet of cargo space, and up front a 0.85 cubic foot frunk — ideal for charging adapters or other small items. The rear seat floor is completely flat, which makes second and third passenger seating more comfortable than most in the segment. The SEL is the sweet spot — AWD, a solid feature list, and after incentive it comes in under $37,000 with dual motors. At that price point it's one of the best-value EVs currently on sale. 00:00 Intro 01:03 IONIQ History 02:22 Design 03:10 Pricing 05:47 Cargo Space 06:45 Door Handles 07:22 Interior 08:55 Software 11:55 Charging 13:49 Driving 16:32 Verdict #HyundaiIONIQ5 #IONIQ5 #Hyundai #ElectricVehicle #EV #EVReview #TeslaModelY #Tesla #EVComparison #BestEVUnder40k #ElectricCrossover #EverCars #EverCarsOfficial #2026IONIQ5 #HyundaiEV #800V #FastCharging #EVNews
