Blizzard Sued Project Ascension: A Complaint Is Not a Verdict

Blizzard Entertainment has filed a lawsuit involving Project Ascension, Derek S. Powell, and other named defendants in the Central District of California: `Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. v. Powell et al.`, case `8:26-cv-01506`. This is Episode 1 of our public-commentary series on the case. The core point: a complaint is the start of a lawsuit. It is not a verdict. Blizzard makes serious allegations involving copyright, the DMCA, trademark law, user agreements, alleged monetization, and civil RICO. Those allegations matter, but Blizzard still has to prove them with evidence. In this episode, we walk through the opening posture of the case, why the modified-client allegation is serious if proven, why “Defendants” cannot do all the work, why RICO is the most explosive part of the filing, and why shutdown-level relief is a remedy fight rather than a foregone conclusion. This video is public legal commentary and opinion. It is not legal advice, and we do not represent Blizzard, Project Ascension, Derek Powell, or any defendant. Please do not harass, threaten, brigade, dox, or contact anyone involved. Sources discussed include public court filings in `8:26-cv-01506`. #ProjectAscension #Blizzard #WorldOfWarcraft #WoW #Lawsuit #ClassicWoW #GamingNews #Copyright #DMCA #RICO
