WITCH'S ROCK SURF CAMP: DAY 1, FINDING MY FOOTING
My 41st birthday! After getting our beach fix in on Saturday, we had an early call time of 6:30 AM to load up our bus with surfboards from WRSC and head to Playa Grande. Despite the warm early morning rain, Dad and I both managed to catch some waves on our massive longboards even though they were not exactly tailor-made for us or our surfing styles. At the conclusion of our AM session we walked around downtown Tamarindo to window shop. Then we waited as long as possible to inch up to high tide so we could make the most of sunset PM session right behind WRSC at Playa Tamarindo. This was also my first attempt to surf with a GoPro floaty stick... I liked the footage I got, but I don't recommend trying to paddle with it in your hand.
