Being just a few meters away from enormous gorillas, free in their natural habitat, exchanging glances, watching them move and feed. A unique experience and privilege. But the day doesn't end with a visit to these wonderful primates. I have to find a way out, and it's no small task. 15km of sandy climbs and descents separate me from civilization, and I also have very little water on hand. I've long hoped it would rain overnight, so the sand would compact a bit, but nothing. It's even drier than the day before. It's impossible to make it on a motorbike.
