Freedom in Christ | Don't Take Your Freedom for Granted

Douglas talks about the freedom that we have in Jesus, and how sometime we might take our freedom for granted. Douglas is free! His parents just got back from going out on a date, and they hired a neighbor high school girl named Becky to babysit Douglas and his brother. And she was the worst! She didn't let Douglas or his brother do ANYTHING fun, they just had to sit around doing nothing for several hours. Douglas used to complain about how strict his parents were, but now he realized just how good he had it! In America, on the fourth of July we celebrate Independence Day, which is the day we celebrate becoming a free country, it's a day to celebrate our freedom. But we often don't appreciate the freedom that we have, especially the freedom that we have in Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian, then Jesus has set you free from being a slave to sin. Douglas and his brother were sort of Becky's "slaves," they had to do whatever she told them to do, and she was not very nice about it. And before giving our lives to Jesus, we are all slaves to sin. But Jesus came to give us freedom from sin, so that we could have the life with Him that He always intended for us. Let's all make sure to remember the awesome freedom that we have in Christ!
