F. Chopin: Variations on a theme of Moore for four hands (Matthieu Idmtal & Alessandro Deljavan)
30 March 2024, Brussels The Variations in D major on a theme of Moore is the only work for four hands that Chopin ever composed. The autograph of this unknown and seldomly played piece came to light only in 1964. It was saved, but not intact. The first and last sheets were missing, with the effect that the introduction and theme were lacking the secondo part and the finale the primo. We owe the possibility of performing this work to Jan Ekier, who reconstructed those lost fragments.
