Bus driver Antônio Leobino, 66, managed to recover R$ 8,200 after seeking help from the Consumer Patrol to report an alleged scam involving a letter of credit in the Federal District. According to him, the money was paid in an attempt to buy a car, but the company spent months delaying the delivery of the vehicle and also the reimbursement of the money. A renter, Antônio stated that he even borrowed money to fulfill his dream of owning a car. After receiving no response from numerous attempts to contact them, he contacted the team led by Gilvan Maximo, who followed the case until the money was returned. Emotional after receiving his money back, the driver issued a warning to other consumers. “This is so I never fall for a scam like this again. And whoever is listening to this report, never fall for a scam like this. It's all an illusion,” he stated.
