EL TREN EN LA MEMORIA/ Ferrocarril del Pacifico de Nicaragua 🇳🇮

The Pacific Railroad of Nicaragua, which provided long journeys, carried presidents, merchants, soldiers, and even Rubén Darío on his triumphant return to his homeland in 1915. Its construction began under the presidency of Pedro Joaquín Chamorro y Alfaro in 1877. Ten years later, the Corinto-La Paz Vieja-Puerto Momotombo section was inaugurated, from where goods were transported to the capital, Managua, via steamships across Lake Xolotlán. During the government of José Santos Zelaya, the railroad expanded to Managua, Granada, León, and Chinandega. IMAGES FROM THE NICARAGUAN ARCHIVES TRAIN RESOURCES AT Vecteezy.com
