KAITEN (回転) is one of the fundamental concepts of Aikido. Rotating the hips, whether keeping the feet in the same place or moving forward and turning, allows the execution of numerous techniques in Aikido. Kaiten is an excellent strategy for entering the UKE space. In this video I will show the basic ways to perform Kaiten, as well as teaching you how to do it, with solo exercises, with weapons and in pairs.
