Luichy Estrella Mueses atribuye a Balaguer crimen contra los héroes del 30 de mayo de 1961

Luis Salvador Estrella (Luichy), son of national hero Salvador Estrella, denounced that Joaquín Balaguer was informed about the preparations to assassinate Trujillo, remained silent, and is responsible for Ramfis Trujillo's murder of the patriots of May 30, 1961, who ended the 30-year dictatorship. Luichy recounted that the heroes of May 30 sent Dr. Rafael Batlle Viñas, Balaguer's physician who had performed prostate surgery on him, to consult him about what would happen in the country after the tyrant's death. The old politician's response was that they had to consult with him, because he was the President of the Republic, and that the procedure established by the Constitution of the Republic had to be followed. Luichy stated that Antonio de la Maza and his father, Salvador Estrella, were responsible for sending the message to Balaguer. However, Balaguer acted in coordination with Ramfis and was so ruthless that before the dictator's son left the country, Balaguer asked him not to leave him with the problem of what to do with those who killed Trujillo. He said that Salvador Estrella and the others expected Balaguer to act to prevent their execution, and that is why they never spoke of Dr. Balaguer's involvement in the plot to kill Trujillo. He also said he had information that in one of the books written by Balaguer, he reveals that he only felt fear twice in his lifetime: during the Bogotazo riots in Colombia, with the assassination of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, and when the dictator Trujillo was killed. Luichy Estrella also referred to José Rafael Abinader, father of the current president of the Dominican Republic, who was known by the nickname Fao. The computer team working against Trujillo sent Luis Salvador Estrella to sound out Piro Estrella, Salvador Estrella's father, to find out if he was aware of the plans to assassinate Trujillo. Piro Estrella told him that Trujillo could only be killed by men like Antonio de la Maza or by men with philandering ties like his son, Salvador Estrella. In this way, the heroes learned the thinking of a Trujillo-aligned general, who predicted that Trujillo would die fighting. Luis Salvador Estrella said that the responsibility for the deaths of the heroes of May 30th fell on Joaquín Balaguer, who could have prevented those deaths and did nothing, even though those men, in addition to bringing Trujillo to justice, saved Balaguer's own life by not denouncing him to Ramfis. He also denied that the Americans participated in the plot to kill Trujillo. He said they contributed absolutely nothing. What is known is that there were plans being developed by people linked to the United States, but they never actually did anything to carry out what needed to be done, for fear of establishing a communist government like in Cuba. He said that everyone involved in Trujillo's assassination was anti-communist, and in that sense, the May 30th plot posed no risk, but the Americans didn't provide it with support.
