Gäwa Shadow Puppet Story

This short video shares the voices of the girls from Gäwa as they show how they collect ngatha from around their Homeland. Ngatha is more than food. It connects people to Country, knowledge, and caring for land in North-East Arnhem Land. As part of the Marthakal Healthy Homelands Education series, this video supports understanding of bush foods and cultural knowledge through Yolŋu voices and lived experience. This series has been developed with a long-term vision of supporting stronger, healthier Homelands for Yolŋu people in North-East Arnhem Land through holistic health, culture, and wellbeing education. Created by BARK Communications in collaboration with Marthakal Homelands and Resource Centre Aboriginal Corporation.
