Building A Heavily Modified NH35 Seamaster Homage
Today we introduce a new style to the channel in the way of an Omega Seamaster homage. This build comes courtesy of a gentleman named Kai who had a very clear vision of what he wanted his custom watch to look like. Starting off we are using a 42mm Seamaster style case and bracelet. Inside we have a plethora of modifications. The biggest being the combination of two dials so the completed watch featured BGW9 lume, a date window at 6 o'clock and a custom logo. The watch also features an aftermarket bridge and rotor decorated with Cotes de Geneve en Arabesque, a turbine fan line finish similar to the genuine watch. In addition to this the watch has skeletonized hands with the hour and seconds hand lumed in blue and the minute hand lumed in green. The date wheel has also been exchanged for a black date wheel to work with the 6 o'clock date window. All of this is powered by an NH35 movement and finally there is the ceramic bezel insert with all numbers marker markers lumed in a bi color pattern. Kai and I discussed this watch in great detail over more than 100 emails to ensure that the watch he received was exactly what he was looking for. The build went very smooth and was thoroughly enjoyable as it presented new challenges to overcome. A little bit of a longer video today so I discuss a bit of information regarding the genuine watch and its evolution over the years. I hope you enjoy.
