Sports Massage ; High Performance Hip Workshop Geelong 2024
This weeks video is an excerpt from my recent High Performance Hip Protocol workshop In Geelong Deakin University . I introduce in this video of the assessment of Lumbar spine, clearing any underlying issues either soft tissue or structural or pelvic. Then move into assessing the Hip extension/abduction and Internal Rotation. The gold is in finer detail in regards to the end range of movement feel. Also clearing Hip joint pathologies and understanding each individuals hip morphology. You have to assess bilateral for comparisons, and making sure you get a thorough history on the client. Next video in this series will be the treatment and if you get this protocol right you do almost any therapy to the gluteals or deep external rotators. We are dealing with Altered Reciprocal Inhibition which is the hallmark for altered movement patterns. Hip Flexor TP`s inhibit gluteus max, Adductor magnus TP`s inhibit the gluteus medius , finally Internal rotation is about chasing the final jigsaw which could be either TFL, Psoas attach /Pectnius , adductor magnus and very rarely the deep external rotators which will be demonstrated on the next video BE AWESOME AT WHAT YOU DO!
