【瀬戸内海国立公園 小豆島】瀬戸内最高峰星ヶ城山！馬の背ルートで山頂を目指します！

This time, we went to Kankakei Gorge on Shodoshima Island in Setonaikai National Park. We climbed Mount Hoshigajo, the highest peak in the Setouchi region. There are two hiking trails: the Omote Jūni Scenic Views Trail and the Ura Hakkei Trail. We took the Umanose Trail, aiming first for the summit of Mount Mikasa. To reach the ridge of the Umanose Trail, you have to forcibly climb up rocky terrain. The summit is mostly rocky. There's also a ropeway view spot along the way. You can also reach the summit by ropeway or private car. Parking at the summit is free. The ropeway costs 1,300 yen for adults one way and takes about 5 minutes. The Kankakei Gorge is truly magnificent. We hiked to the summit of Mount Mikasa, and the eastern and western peaks of Mount Hoshigajo. From Mount Hoshigajo's eastern peak, you can see Shikoku and Awaji Island, if the weather's clear.
