SENAMI reforça sensibilização para regularização documenta de estrangeiros em Cabo Delgado
The National Migration Service in Cabo Delgado is promoting an awareness campaign aimed at foreign communities residing in the province, with the goal of strengthening document regularization and encouraging legal stay in Mozambican territory. In the first phase, the initiative covers representatives of foreign communities, who are expected to relay the message among their compatriots, urging compliance with the rules for entry and stay in the country. According to the provincial spokesperson for SERNAM, many foreigners remain in an irregular situation due to a lack of knowledge of immigration legislation. During the meeting, community representatives highlighted the importance of more effective communication between the authorities and foreign citizens. Among the concerns raised was the need to make accommodation vouchers available at entry points, as a way to avoid fines associated with failure to notify the authorities. Recent data from the sector indicate that Cabo Delgado currently has around 10 organized foreign communities, totaling approximately 4,430 citizens with different legal statuses, including temporary residence permits, work visas, and student visas.
