Preparation for a successful rhinoplasty ⭕️ KAMINSKYI

The first key examination is computed tomography, or a CT scan. It gives us layered images in three different planes and allows us to study the hard structures of the nose - the nasal bones and the bony septum. On CT, we do not clearly see the cartilages, but we can evaluate the borders of the soft tissues. The next step is creating a 3D model based on the CT data. This helps us better understand the volume, proportions, asymmetries, and size of the nasal structures. If needed, we can even print a physical model of the nose before surgery and test different technical approaches. After that, we perform ultrasound of the nose. Ultrasound allows us to analyze the soft tissue layers and the cartilaginous structures that are not fully visible on CT. Then we combine all of this information. We merge the CT data, the 3D measurements, and the ultrasound findings to create a more complete three-dimensional bony-cartilaginous model of the nose. Only after this can we move to the next stage - patient photography and surgical planning. Based on the patient’s wishes, anatomy, and all the examination data, we model the future shape of the nose. When the technique is chosen correctly and the planning is precise, the final result becomes more predictable and stable. 👨‍⚕️ About Dr. Edgar Kaminskyi: Dr. Kaminskyi is a renowned plastic and ENT surgeon specializing in closed preservation rhinoplasty, facial surgeries, and breast augmentation.
