Uelzen - Unterwegs in Niedersachsen (Folge 43)

In this episode, we showcase the town of Uelzen and its surroundings. Among other things, we feature the Hösseringen Museum Village, the Uelzen Lock, Holdenstedt Castle, and, of course, the Hundertwasser Train Station in Uelzen. Uelzen is located on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath. The town is located at the transport hubs of the north-south axis Hamburg-Hanover and the west-east axis Bremen-Berlin. Its location on the Elbe Lateral Canal is also of economic importance. The town's location on the heath river Ilmenau is charming, with its green banks, small parks, and floodplains. Large areas in the surrounding area have been developed as nature reserves with moors, forests, lakes, and heathlands: the Elbufer-Drawehn Nature Park, the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park, and the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve.
