Born into a family that cherished classical music, he was exposed to the art form from a young age and frequently attended concerts in musical hubs like Ernakulam and Thrissur. His initial training began at the age of nine under the guidance of his aunt, Kavitha Shiboo, and Alli Harivishnu, followed by advanced lessons from Chandramana Narayanan Namboothiri. Determined to pursue music more seriously, he moved to Chennai in 2007, where he received advanced training from acclaimed gurus such as Neyveli Santhanagopalan and P. S. Narayanaswamy, who helped shape his understanding of manodharma (creative improvisation) and classical purity. Before dedicating himself fully to Carnatic music, Vishnudev briefly worked in the IT industry. His musical talents, however, soon gained recognition when he won the Jaya TV Carnatic Music Idol in 2012, and was awarded an 'A' grade by All India Radio in 2011. These achievements marked the beginning of a flourishing concert career. He has since performed widely across India and abroad, earning praise for his adherence to tradition coupled with a refreshing spontaneity. Vishnudev's music is deeply rooted in classical rigor, yet he approaches each performance as a spiritual experience, allowing the music to unfold naturally. He believes that a true artist becomes a medium through which music flows, rather than merely a performer. His emotive style and strong foundation, continues to resonate with rasikas around the world.
