Mr. Riad Mezouar, Minister of Industry and Trade, participated today in Casablanca in the celebrations held at the SOMACA plant, part of the Renault Group Morocco, to launch the updated versions of the Dacia models: Sandero Streetway, Sandero Stepway, Logan, and Joger. He was joined by Mr. Mohamed Bachiri, General Manager of the Renault Group Morocco, Mr. Thibaut Baland, General Manager of Renault Commercial Morocco and the Dacia brand in Morocco, and in the presence of several representatives of local authorities and key players in the industrial sector. In his address, Mr. Mezouar praised the achievements of the Renault Group Morocco, noting that 2025 marked a turning point, necessitating an accelerated pace of transformation and adaptation to changing circumstances. This transformation was accomplished entirely by Moroccan hands, with internal teams taking full responsibility for this qualitative leap, which included technological development, engine adaptation, and production line modifications. In the same vein, the Minister emphasized that this new industrial phase for Dacia in Morocco reflects the exceptional maturity of our national automotive manufacturing platform. He noted that these four models, for which the SOMACA plant is renowned, exemplify the ability of Moroccan factories to manufacture according to the highest international standards. In turn, Mr. Riad Mezouar explained that three crucial battles await the company: developing models to enhance competitiveness and innovation, strengthening automation to keep pace with leading global practices, and cultivating a spirit of flexibility and creativity among all staff to respond quickly to consumer expectations. He expressed his complete confidence in the expertise of local talent and their ability to meet these challenges and further solidify Morocco's position as a leading industrial hub.
