The Lugano-Ponte Tresa Railway (FLP) is a suburban railway in Lugano and, along with the famous Centovalli Railway, is the only surviving narrow-gauge railway of its kind. There used to be half a dozen more of these in the canton of Ticino. We begin our journey in Lugano and travel on the charming, vintage trains with their smiley faces 😊, which have since been put out of service and replaced with new rolling stock. The journey ends in Ponte Tresa, a town on the border with Italy.
