'We Must Fight: Feliza Bursztyn and Colombian Women in the Arts' lecture by Gina McDaniel Tarver
When giving an interview for a popular Colombian magazine in 1973 Feliza Bursztyn declared: '[I am a] feminist and violent liberationist. Because I believe that there is a political and social difference between men and women, and it’s that we women are not able do what we want with peace of mind. The problem is that you were raised in that way. You were raised “differently” since you were born … Moreover, there are no other possibilities, by tradition and by culture … Progress has been made, but not enough. We must fight and ensure that an equally skilled woman is paid the same salary for the same job as a man. And at this time, that’s not the case.'
