Queimada Grande Island, in Brazil, is considered one of the most dangerous places in the world. This is due to the presence of bothrops insularis, better known as the snake of the Burnt Island. It is a dangerous viper that has a venom five times more powerful than the one of the yarará, the species found on the continent. It is estimated that there are about 2000 specimens of this snake, which is not found anywhere else in the world. Not only does no one live there, but visiting the place is prohibited. Permits can only be obtained for scientific research.
