Compaq Portable Repair history & Foam and Foil Keyboard Repair
I got this survivor Compaq Portable a while back and after a little bit of use it's keyboard gave out. Time to get it fixed and also take a closer look at the computer itself. This thing has had a lot harder of a life than I would have guessed. I even realized after the video was done that I think it survived a fire because the inside has some black power coating some parts. I'm so glad the previous owner seemed to enjoy it so much as to keep it going for so long. If you have a Compaq Portable(Or Apple Lisa as well) with a bad keyboard I highly recommend TexElec's pad replacements: https://texelec.com/product/foam-capa... I'm really grooving on having this keyboard fixed and being able to use the computer now. It's rapidly becoming one of my favourite vintage computers.
