A new video tour has been released, dedicated to the most unusual section of the museum's collection—the "Christian Art of Ethiopia" hall. The collection is unique and the most comprehensive collection of Ethiopian art in Russia, comprising over 2,400 objects. It includes crosses of various shapes, sizes, and types; paintings such as icons, folding icons, religious and secular paintings; a number of manuscripts and parchments with texts and miniatures; ethnographic folk crafts such as pottery, weaving, wood carvings, leather paintings, and popular prints. The collection also contains silver pieces from the court workshop of Menelik II, rare in their beauty and elegance, featuring pendants of a wide variety of shapes and sizes, crafted using filigree techniques. During the tour, museum researcher Elena Guvakova will discuss the cultural and artistic features of Christian Ethiopia, as well as the religious and secular monuments in the museum's collection.
