Blackpool Bouncer With a Death Threat - Danny Dyer Meets Steve Sinclair

Danny Dyer moves in with Blackpool bouncer Steve Sinclair, a man living under an imminent death threat. Then he goes undercover to work the doors at the Syndicate. Britain’s party capital is on show as Danny heads to Blackpool to learn why its nights can turn so violent. We hear how Blackpool’s A&E is the busiest in the country and assaults run at twice the UK average. Steve, known locally as the Blackpool Rock, has spent three decades on the doors. He talks about being shot at and stabbed, and about past arrests for GBH, firearms and even contract-killing allegations that never stuck. Inside Steve’s home, Danny meets the family and sees the cost of life on the front line: a police letter warning an imminent death threat, a hammer parked by the door, and a recent attempt to kick the door in at night. Spooked, Danny opts for a hotel, then returns in the morning determined to experience the job for real. On St George’s Day, in a stab proof vest, hi-vis and glasses, Danny tests a disguise and slips into one of the UK’s biggest clubs, the Syndicate. Some recognize him, most don’t, and he takes his spot on the front line checking IDs while Steve scans for trouble among crowds fueled by booze, cocaine and steroids. Not every night explodes, and we see the modern doorman’s code in action: be nice first, protect the punters, keep your composure, and only step up when you must. There are flashes of Steve’s fighting pride too, including his exhibition bout with Sugar Ray Leonard that left him winded but grinning. Through quiet tension and close calls, Danny learns why the door can be an addiction, and what fearlessness might cost a man who refuses to back down. #DannyDyer #DeadliestMen #Blackpool #Bouncer #SteveSinclair #UKNightlife #Documentary
