Day 2 Norfolk Birding | Hawk & Owl Trust Sculthorpe Moor

Day 2 of my Norfolk birding holiday took me to the beautiful Hawk & Owl Trust Sculthorpe Moor, where a peaceful walk through woodland, wetland, and meadows produced some fantastic wildlife encounters. Join me as I explore Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, one of Norfolk's hidden gems for birdwatching and wildlife photography. The reserve offers a diverse range of habitats, making every visit full of surprises for birders and nature lovers alike. Throughout the day I encountered an amazing selection of species, including Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Nuthatch, and the stunning Great Spotted Woodpecker. Overhead, Red Kites and Buzzards soared effortlessly on the thermals, while Marsh Harriers patrolled the reedbeds searching for prey. The highlight of the visit came later in the day with an unforgettable sighting of a Barn Owl hunting across the reserve, providing the perfect end to another incredible day exploring Norfolk's wildlife. Sculthorpe Moor continues to prove why Norfolk is one of the UK's best destinations for birdwatching, offering fantastic opportunities for wildlife photographers, birders, and anyone wanting to connect with nature.
