Suffolk & Cambridgeshire Family Tree Trip, DAY 4,'Bottisham Place Built by John Hasell in 15thc ' by

The ancestral home of my Hasell family shared with the Hasells of Dalemain in Cumbria.In the 15th century John Hasell a wealthy merchant built Bottisham place .The tudor Panelling within the house I have seen 20 years ago when I first discovered my Hasell Tree and over 20 years many discoveroes have been made and shared to my Tree..The house I visited this year but was unable to enter the house on this visit----I should have made an appointment.Anyway I have photos and old audio footage on YT of that visit 20 years ago showing the Tudor panelling with images of John Hasell and his wife Agnes carved into the panelling.John a distant grandfather.Anyway the video shown here is the latest of the buiding--the oldest building in Bottisham with a rich history.Zara and I visited in 2005 while on the first family tree trip and we knocked on the door and we were welcomed for tea and biscuits and allowed to view the inside and outside of the house including the very old barns and farming equipment. A Mrs Paul told us many stories about the house which was in the hands of the Paul family for 300 years as well and still today with Bottisham Place now a business venue.Many of my Hasell ancesors are buried at Bottisham Church of Holy Trinity with large slab gravestones part of the flooring in the church including John Hasell. 12 years ago I visited Dalemain in Cumbria and gave the family photos of the Tudor Panelling and some Tree details and they responed with a very old family tree created by a Hasell.Many descendant Hasells are buried at Dacre church within walking distance of Dalemain.We share common ancestors of Bottisham.
