(She) knew (she) wanted to create more decks, all made entirely by hand. (She) began to search for a name, something that could represent this new path. The first name that came to mind was Matronua. It holds deep meaning for (her): it evokes the strength, mystery and protective nature of an ancient feminine presence. It became the name of (her) brand, and the signature (she) will place on each deck (she) create in the future.” “With Matronua Tarot, (her) hope is to honour and renew the legacy of classic Tarot, celebrating the elegance and craftsmanship that once defined Italian decks. Each card of (her) deck is painted by hand, with the same care and attention to detail that marked those earlier creations. On the box, (she) chose to write Tarocchi italiani dipinti a mano da Valentina De Luca as a tribute to a tradition (she) believe deserves to be revisited and carried forward.” “A deck that carries the spirit of history, painted by hand one card at a time, entirely without the use of artificial intelligence.” “(She) used watercolours and gouache, experimenting with techniques to achieve the right depth and vibrancy in each image. Some cards required multiple revisions until (she) felt they fully embodied their energy. As (she) worked on each arcana, both Major and Minor, (she) found that its energy would subtly take hold of (her) thoughts, (her) emotions, and even the course of events around (her) — as if painting each card meant channelling its essence into (her) life itself … Each card took (her) around two or three days of intense work, especially the Major Arcana and the Court Cards, which required intricate detailing.” “During the Renaissance, noble families in cities like Milan, Ferrara, and Bologna commissioned hand-painted tarot decks from master artists, precious objects meant not just for play, but for admiration and preservation. In the early decades of the 19th century, Italian tarot experienced a creative revival. After tarot had spread to France, most decks produced in Italy closely followed French models and were often engraved in a rather rough style. The course of this tradition changed when a printer from Munich entered the scene. That was Ferdinando Gumppenberg, who took over the Royal Playing Card Factory in Milan and introduced German and Austrian techniques that shaped Italian tarot design. His Soprafino deck, engraved by Della Rocca in 1830, set a new artistic standard. After his death, the factory passed to his son-in-law, Lattanzio Lamperti. Around the same time, Teodoro Dotti, a former associate, created a similar but distinct deck using newly engraved plates. In Turin, the Tarot Perrin appeared circa 1850, also inspired by the Soprafino. These three decks: Soprafino, Dotti, and Perrin, were, in my view, the last true expression of Italy's refined tradition, uniting artistic mastery with the classical structure of the so called Marseille-style tarot. Since then, no new decks of that kind have been created in Italy, except for a few rare ones which, despite their beauty and creativity, do not adhere to the principles of traditional symbolism.” Purchase: Matronua Tarot deck (limited to 1000 numbered copies) Tarocchi Italiani Card Deck + Signed certificate of authenticity with dry seal + Handwritten message from the Artist + Cotton Tarot Pouch + Exclusive card – Arcanum XVI “La Saetta” (limited to 100 copies) 84-card French-style Marseille Tarot cards deck (including one limited-edition Tower card) Add-on: none for me I bought all the kickstarter projects with my own money 🤑 #kickstartercampaign #kickstarterproject #kickstarterunboxing #kickstarterflipthrough #kickstarterflipthru #kickstarter #superbacker #unboxing #unboxingvideo #flipthrough #flipthru #flipthroughvideo #tarotflipthrough #asmrsound #asmrsounds #asmrvideo #asmrvideos #amsr Support #kickstarterprojects #tarotdeck #marseille #thothtarot #oracledeck #lenormanddeck #runedeck #angeldeck #ichingdeck Bought tons of #kickstartertarotcards #kickstarteroraclecards #kickstarterlenormand #kickstarterproducts
