Regular viewers will already be familiar with one of our long-term residents: this fabulous Mercedes 500SEC. Achingly cool and utterly timeless, it's also a much-loved example, owned by a dedicated Mercedes enthusiast from Spain and a valued repeat customer of the Den. With the work now completed – including a full leather retrim, a set of larger wheels, a comprehensive inlet tract upgrade and fresh dampers – we thought it the perfect opportunity to take the big coupe out for a pre-delivery shakedown and road test. Hence the video here, in which Luke and cameraman Jamie take this exquisitely appointed Eighties luxobarge for a gentle 'thrashing' around the lanes of rural South Leicestershire.
