Life on World's Largest River Island MAJULI, Assam

I visited the world’s largest river island – Majuli in Assam**, and this journey turned out to be one of the most unique travel experiences of my life. Starting from North Lakhimpur, I traveled with my bike and crossed the mighty Brahmaputra River by ferry to reach Majuli Island. This island is not just huge, but it is also slowly disappearing over time due to erosion. On this island, there are around 20 villages where people live a simple and traditional life. Some areas are still underdeveloped, but the natural beauty, peaceful environment, and unique culture make Majuli truly special. I stayed in a beautiful bamboo homestay, explored village life, and experienced a completely different lifestyle between two rivers.
