Tired Lucas 25D, when to replace a worn out dizzy
In this video, I inspect and dismantle a very worn Lucas 25D distributor. By measuring advance curves and dwell angles, I can see what effect the wear on the central shaft has on ignition timing. I also discuss the effect that the wear has on the ignition advance curves and why it is a problem. These problems are not specific to the Lucas 25D distributor, they are common to all types of distributors, the 45D 59D 65D, as well as other vehicles.
