Co-anesthesia: Share with the World—LIVE Anesthesia Crisis Competition: Case Demonstration Challenge

The Asian Australasian Regional Section (AARS) is the largest and most influential anesthesiology academic organization in Asia and Australia. The Asian Australasian Congress of Anaesthesiologists(AACA), hosted by AARS and held every four years, is the highest-level and largest anesthesiology academic event in Asia and Australia, and also one of the most important academic exchange platforms in the global anesthesiology community. The 17th AACA will be grandly held in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2026. This is a combination of complex case sharing and simulated medicine. In clinical practice, physicians often encounter rare but complex and critical situations, such as difficult airway management, sudden hypoxemia, circulatory collapse, or severe drug reactions. If not handled properly, these situations may lead to severe consequences. Case analysis enables healthcare providers to systematically review and reflect on these cases, thereby improving their understanding and response capabilities. Simulation medicine allows clinical scenarios to be recreated in a safe, controlled, and repeatable environment. This initiative integrates case sharing with simulation-based medicine in a competitive setting. Participants enhance their ability to respond to rare but life-threatening events, strengthen teamwork and communication, and gain valuable experience in a risk-free environment, ultimately advancing patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
