L’installazione del pescante del gasolio per il riscaldatore cinese, su Fiat Ducato 244

Disassemble the diesel pump, insert the fuel tank stand pipe and feed the kinebasto directly from the fuel tank. I avoided the auxiliary tank supplied in the kit, due to lack of space, but mainly to avoid top-ups and possible spills of diesel fuel inside the cell. Almost a year later, the fuel stand pipe did not give any problems, the Vevor 2Kw heater works perfectly as well as the power supply of my Adria Van on the Ducato Maxi 2800 Jtd. The "do-it-yourself" installation is a fairly simple operation as long as you have good dexterity and the ability to set up a small counter. In fact, the pump must be disassembled and extracted from the tank; some puncture the cap and insert the float without removing it from its seat but in doing so the debris from the drilling ends up in the diesel fuel, the same happens if the tank is drilled directly. The fuel stand pipe that you see in the video can be purchased online and is considered the only model suitable for mounting on the pump cap. The tube must be cut to size so as to leave at least two or three centimeters from the bottom of the tank; this arrangement offers two advantages: allows you not to affect the diesel fuel reserve and guarantee the motorhome start-up; reduces the possibility that any dirt deposits on the bottom of the tank end up in the heater. In the video I report the useful measurements on the pump of my van but each individual pump will require a separate measurement, even two identical models could, for example, have a different spring excursion. Always check that the tube is not clogged (it seems to happen quite frequently), also check that there are no constrictions at the cut point. This video is part of a series of four videos in which I describe the installation and commissioning of my Vevor 2Kw starting from unboxing; passing from bench assembly with assessments on consumption, temperatures and noise; finally describing the installation on the van, discovering the surprising and for me unexpected performance of this small heater, purchased as a kit at a ridiculously low price of about 150 euros. I conclude by pointing out that what is described is not meant to be a "tutorial" but only my experience with one of the possible solutions.
