In this video, we're taking you back to our barn conversion site. This time, we're focusing on preparing for the next concrete pour: installing the reinforcement for the foundation slab, or rather, the new concrete surface in the future living area. This construction site is particularly exciting because it's not simply a new building being erected on a greenfield site. We're converting an existing barn. A foundation slab has already been poured in the stairwell area. About 1.5 meters higher, the future living area is now being prepared and concreted. The steel reinforcement has now arrived. We'll show you what kind of reinforcement is being installed, how the area was prepared, and what work needs to be done before the concrete pour. This includes, among other things, the drainage work, compacting the concrete in layers, coordinating with the structural engineer, and ensuring a clean bond between the new concrete and the existing structure. Conversion projects always present unique challenges. Old walls, a vaulted cellar, existing connections, and new requirements all need to be seamlessly integrated. Therefore, certain connections are drilled, blown out, documented, and bonded with a two-component adhesive to ensure the new structure is properly integrated with the existing structure. This video also addresses new customer requests during the construction phase. The customer is considering having the partition walls built using solid construction methods instead of drywall. Such change orders are common during renovations. It's always important to us to treat our customers fairly and transparently.
