It is said that his younger brother, Fujiwara no Fuhito, built a shrine and enshrined a statue of his father. It was once integrated with Myōraku-ji Temple, but after the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in the early Meiji period, only the shrine remained. The shrine's name is derived from "Dan'i-yama," the mountain where Kamatari and Prince Naka no Ōe conspired to assassinate Soga no Iruka. Near the summit of Mount Tōmine, a series of magnificent vermilion-lacquered shrine buildings stand, including the main gate (Important Cultural Property), the main hall (Important Cultural Property), and the auxiliary hall (Important Cultural Property). The current pagoda, rebuilt during the Muromachi period, stands 17 meters tall. The thirteen-story wooden pagoda, the only surviving structure from the ancient pagodas, is believed to be Kamatari's tomb.
