Australia's Most Unhinged Bushranger 🤠

Could there be a bushranger more feared, ruthless, and terrifying than the infamous Ned Kelly? In this episode of The Vacationing VKs, we dive deep into the dark, volatile history of Dan "Mad Dog" Morgan—a man whose brutal legacy left a trail of terror across New South Wales and Victoria. Our journey kicks off as we head out to a dramatic rocky outcrop known as Morgan’s Lookout near the small town of Walla Walla. This was one of his prime hiding spots, offering a 360-degree view to spot any approaching police. From there, we track his movements to the outskirts of Culcairn, visiting the exact, somber location where he shot and killed John McLean. Finally, we cross south into Victoria to find where old Mad Dog’s remains are buried today in the Wangaratta Cemetery. But this trip wasn’t just a history lesson—our own journey took some unexpected turns! 🫣 We planned to spend our first night at a beautiful local spot, but a sudden run-in and an ominous warning from a local forced us to pack up and vacate the area immediately. Luckily, we managed to regroup and found an awesome free camp tucked right behind a classic country pub. Which pub was it? You’ll have to watch the episode to find out!
