COLLISION COURSE | Blood & Riff

*COLLISION COURSE | Blood & Riff* October 2, 1942. In the dark waters of the North Atlantic, two Allied ships found themselves on a tragic collision course. Collision Course tells the story of the wartime troopship RMS Queen Mary and the escort cruiser HMS Curacoa. Carrying thousands of American troops to Britain, Queen Mary sailed under strict orders to maintain speed and never stop due to the constant threat of German U-boats. During an escort maneuver, the unthinkable happened—Queen Mary collided with Curacoa, cutting the cruiser in two. Hundreds of Royal Navy sailors were lost, while Queen Mary was forced to continue her voyage under wartime orders. No enemy fired a shot, yet the sea claimed its victims all the same. This song is a tribute to the officers and sailors of HMS Curacoa and a reminder that war's tragedies are not always caused by the enemy. 🌊 Dedicated to those lost aboard HMS Curacoa on October 2, 1942. *"Two ships. One ocean. One tragic course."* #CollisionCourse #BloodAndRiff #RMSQueenMary #HMSCuracoa #WWII #WorldWar2 #NavalHistory #MaritimeHistory #HistoryMetal #HistoricalMetal #RoyalNavy #OceanLiner #NorthAtlantic #MilitaryHistory #WarAtSea #Troopship #SymphonicMetal #PowerMetal #ShipHistory #WWIIHistory
