Barnsley’s Hidden Past – Oaks Viaduct, Barnsley Main & The Canal
Barnsley is full of history… but some of it has completely disappeared. In this video, I went exploring three forgotten locations: • The former Oaks Viaduct • Barnsley Main Colliery • A disused canal and the remains of a lost house I even tracked down an old image of what the canal house used to look like — and compared it to what’s there today. It really makes you stop and think… how much have we lost without even realising? If you enjoy local history, hidden places, and real stories from Barnsley, make sure to like, comment and subscribe.
