BRAND NEW United Elevated 787-9L Premium Plus review from Houston to San Francisco

Join me as I check out United’s brand new “Elevated” 787-9—on just its second revenue flight, and only the fourth flight ever for the entire Elevated fleet—flying from Houston to San Francisco. I was seated in Premium Plus, which on this route is sold as Economy Plus, making this a pretty unique way to experience United’s newest product. The seat is definitely solid. You get good recline, useful storage, a nice IFE setup, and surprisingly great privacy for a premium economy seat. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s a noticeable step up. There are a couple downsides though. The seat feels a bit slim and firm after a while, and there’s no real divider between Premium Plus and economy, which takes away from that premium feel. Overall, a strong new product from United—especially for domestic flying. But on a long-haul international route, I’d probably still take some foreign carriers’ premium economy seats instead.
