Druk Dragon Garden in Ladakh: the design & concept in 2015

The 1992 mandala concept for school building, by Arup Associates, is being developed to make a Buddhism-influenced Dragon Garden for the children of the Druk White Lotus School DWLS. The school is funded by the Drukpa Trust, a UK-registered charity. The architecture and landscape design work are provided pro bono public by firms and volunteers. Video of a talk by landscape architect Tom Turner to Arup Associates in September 2015. This talk was followed by Konrad Boncza-Pioro's account of the paving done in 2015 to implement the strategy of 'granite arising out of slate' as in the granite batholith did in the River Indus Suture Zone.
