At more than 3000 meters above sea level, Ladakh is a region in Northern India,located on the borders of Pakistan and china. It is one of Live to Love's action locations one the Himalayan range. In the summer 2024, we set out to meet the men and women who bring each project to life. Every week, we will share with you an episode of this trip. Etape 1 : L'éducation et l'école Druk Padma Karpo L'école Druk Padma Karpo est située à Shey, à 30 minutes de Leh, la capitale du Ladakh. Construite en 2001 avec une première cohorte de 80 élèves, elle compte aujourd'hui presque 1000 élèves de 4 ans à 16 ans. L'objectif est de construire un nouveau complexe bâtiments pour ouvrir des classes de Première et Terminale et permettre aux élève de poursuivre leur scolarité dans l'école. L'école Druk Padma Karpo propose non seulement un cursus adapté et pertinent encadré par une équipe pédagogique locale très dynamique, mais aussi un internat où de nombreuses activités comme la cuisine, l'art du textile, l'histoire, les danses et musiques traditionnelles sont pratiquées par les élèves pour redonner vie et sens à la culture Ladakhi et à ses traditions. Mingyur Angmo, la directrice, revient sur ce qui fait la force de cette école du "bout du monde". S tep 1 : Education and Druk Padma Karpo School Druk Padma Karpo School is located in Shey, 30 minutes from Leh, Ladakh's capital. Founded in 2001 with a cohort of 80 children, DPKS is counting today almost 1000 students from 4 years old to 16 years old. Today, the aim is to build a new school complex enabling the students to stay at DPKS for the higher level exams and not to have to leave the school to study Senior Secondary School elsewhere. Druk Padma Karpo School provides not only a tailored and relevant curriculum in an exceptional learning environment, but also a hostel which equips students with skills for life in Ladakh as Ladakhi cooking, textiles, history, dances and music helping to keep culture and traditions meaningful and alive.
