Vast majority of about 90 % of Madagascar fauna and flora is endemic does not cope well with the environment destroyed by human activities. Life is not easy in Madagascar and agriculture or selling charcoal generates the only possible income for many people. Over seventy five percent of Madagascar’s population lived below the extreme poverty line in 2019. About 90 % of original forest coverage was lost after the arrival of humans about 2000 years ago. Thousands of endemic species from this biodiversity hotspot are threatened by extinction. You will see the biggest lemurs on the planet - Indris. Indris call every day to defend their territory. You will also see Ring-tailed lemurs basking and Verreaux's sifakas dancing. Another spectacular lemur is Aye-aye, you will see it pulling out grubs from the tree trunk. Another amazing animal group are chameleons. You will see big Parson's chameleon and also dwarf Brookesia chameleon. Another endangered reptile group are leaf-tailed geckos from genus Uroplatus. Snakes are also amazing on Madagascar, you will see Malagasy leaf-nosed snake (Langaga) and Dumeril's boa (Acrantophis).
