Gas Price Havoc! (What Nomads Do)

Gas and Diesel prices are up more than forty percent at the pump. Time for some real talk on what nomads do when it comes to dealing with this kind of crisis. At least what I do. And I am a nomad... So... First of all this episode will hit a little differently than many of the other Bob Davis Podcast episodes here on YouTube. In some ways this episode is a throw back to the very beginning of my YouTube channel. When I used to just sit in front of the camera and do a podcast. Or what they used to call a VLOG. We're living through a huge pivot point. I do have a system for making decisions that has served me well. But there is more to talk about to set up the discussion. I don't think I have seen this kind of Chaos here in the United States, if not the world, in my lifetime. Even more it seems like every three of four days things change again. That has us adjusting to these day to day changes inconsistently. Furthermore there's no way to read into any 'thing' that happens with any degree of rational thought. You guys know I don't talk about politics on this channel so don't worry. No politics... But some real talk about the pivot we're all experiencing. Kind of like growing up in an alcoholic family. You don't know whether you're standing on solid ground or sand. So combined with high fuel prices...my specific concern in this episode... What does a person do. Whether you are a nomad or 'back in the world' the so called OODA loop can help make decisions and gain a superior tactical position... So you can plan your next move. Developed by a fighter pilot named Boyd, OODA stands for Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. It's a process designed to be repeated over and over whether it takes forty seconds, a few minutes or a few hours to observe, orient to what you're observing and figuring out what to do... Most importantly is the Decision and Action phases of the so called OODA Loop. There's lots of information about OODA online and even a podcast out there if you need more information. For me this process has been instrumental in me sitting in the desert until I need to travel over to Joshua Tree to finish the work on my Fire Truck... ...basically getting the door replaced and adding a window. It's going to be super cool, so stand by the that video. I'll tell you one thing... There is no sphere of knowledge that sheds a light on all that is going on. Whatever cognizance we retain from politics, religion, science, social life...whatever slips through our fingers as soon as we try to apply it. Chaos. Havoc. That's why one third of us are going through an existential crisis on a day to day basis. Not to mention the fact that things just don't work like they used to. And it's getting worse, friends. The best thing to do is figure out what 'you' are going to about about 'your' situation. This is a reality we nomads learn quickly. Moreover we have to maintain relentless positivity and thoughtful action in our day to day Nomad Life. We can't change the circumstances of decisions don't have the responsibility or authority to impact or in some cases understand. What we can do is change how we react. Especially relevant is the idea that this is the way to avoid depression and anxiety because once we know our strategic goals, you can employ day to day tactical decisions we can control. Great tactics that leave us in an advantageous position consistently lead to strategic success. Thanks for watching!
