World Oceans Day Flag Raising at the Parade of Boats - UN World Oceans Day 2025

Taking place ahead of the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, World Oceans Day 2025 was marked by a symbolic moment that celebrated this year's theme of "Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us" and unified global ocean leaders in honoring the ocean as the greatest wonder of our world. A first-of-its-kind World Oceans Day Boat Parade gathered vessels from around the world in a journey from Monaco to Nice. Sylvia Earle and Fabien Cousteau were presented with the World Oceans Day Flag, which Fabien then raised while in transit aboard the Tara. This official raising of the World Oceans Day flag kick-started the raising of flags by not only the local fleet, but in cities and UN Member States across the globe.
