Announcing UN World Oceans Day 2026: Reimagine
Today on UN World Oceans Day, we mark a new chapter — and a new call to action to #SaveOurOcean. For too long, we’ve treated the ocean as something distant and separate from us. Yet it shapes the air we breathe, the food we eat and the climate we depend on. Now is the time to rethink our relationship with the ocean and recognize how deeply connected we truly are. The entry into force of the global agreement to conserve and sustainably use marine biodiversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction is a major step toward caring for our shared ocean together. But no agreement alone can transform how we care for the ocean. That change depends on all of us. Beyond the world we know, a more just and sustainable future for our ocean is within reach. #UNWorldOceansDay #Reimagine #WorldOceansDay
