Obsession (2026) follows Bear, played by Michael Johnston, a music store employee and hopeless romantic who secretly has feelings for his childhood friend and co-worker Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette. Unable to fully express what he feels, Bear stumbles upon a mysterious object known as the One Wish Willow, a strange wish-granting item that promises to make one desire come true. Bear uses the One Wish Willow to wish that Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world. At first, it seems like his dream has come true. Nikki’s attention turns toward him, and the relationship appears to become everything he wanted. But the wish soon reveals its darker side, as Nikki’s affection becomes intense, unstable, and increasingly frightening. Written and directed by Curry Barker, the film also stars Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter. What begins as a supernatural romance quickly becomes a horror story about control, obsession, and the danger of trying to force someone else’s feelings. As Bear realizes that his wish has taken away something essential from Nikki, he is forced to confront the terrifying consequences of what he asked for. Obsession becomes a disturbing “monkey’s paw” story about desire, guilt, toxic love, and the nightmare of getting exactly what you thought you wanted.
